Basil is a full brother to Ch Jessie, sired by BISS Ch Lagarada's Aspen
Gold, Travis and Affaire's For Your Eyes Only, Sara.
Basil lives with Shelley Hayse in the SF Bay Area. When Basil was about
14 months old, I went to see him and was thrilled with how beautiful he
was. The dog I kept from the breeding was taking some time out of
the show ring at the time, so I decided to enter Basil in a few shows. Our
second time in the ring, Basil took 2 points under judge Judith Goodin.
Ms. Goodin put up my very first showdog on my very first time in the ring.
We are not sure if she is due credit or blame, but in either case, I'm
still showing dogs 20 years later.
Basil was handled to his all single points by me, his breeder and co-owner.
At that point, Diane Collings took his lead and finished him in short order
in a total of 3 shows with back-to-back majors.
This beautiful dog lives a wonderful life with his owner and has all the
virtues one would want in a Great Dane. He has beautiful bone and substance,
a gorgeous head piece with dark eyes and full dentition. He has lovely angles
and moves with strength, extending
his reach and driving with his rear. If that were not enough, he has a
fabulous temperament to top it all off.
Basil was not going to be specialed, so he has been neutered. There is
frozen semen available.
