Jessie is a full sister to Ch Basil, sired by BISS Ch Lagarada's Aspen
Gold, Travis and Affaire's For Your Eyes Only, Sara.
Jessie lives with Kim Blanton and another bitch I bred, Hayley. Kim has
her hands full with her horses and a ranch full of other animals, so
Jessie was placed with Kim, with me as co-owner, so I could show her.
Showing Jessie proved to be a formidable task for both me and Kim. It
was like showing Conner all over again. We decided to turn Jessie over
to a handler and see if she could be more competitive without one of us
handling her. Diane Collings started her out with a single point, but
Jessie rarely got priority with Diane, so we hired Jane Chopson to take
over. Jane put a major and several singles on Jessie in a pretty short
time. A good friend, Colleen Leahy, put her last single on her while I
was up in Oregon showing Basil. Basil won in Oregon that day too.
I had Jessie entered in a show Jane did not attend and I was amazed at
how well she showed for me that day. I thought she might just have gotten
bored, so we decided to mix it up again and put her back with Diane. She
only needed her last major and there weren't very many major shows available
but Diane got her finished on the Monterey Bay GDC Specialty weekend the
following summer.
Jessie has been bred twice, but neither breeding took. We are going to
repeat the last breeding on her next heat cycle. Details about that can
