Remi
Remi came into my life unexpectedly. I was looking for a brindle and had been for quite
some time. I went to look at an all fawn litter, just to see them. I was not thinking
that I would even consider getting one of them. So I thought.
Remi caught my eye right away and oddly enough, she seemed to pick me from the start. When all the
other puppies went to the shade to take a nap, she curled up at my feet for her nap. I ended up
putting a deposit on her that day and my longing for that magnificent show brindle has never been
fulfilled, but I would not take back one day of my time with Remi for anything. She was a marvelous
bitch with tremendous energy and a lively spirit. I was very lucky to have her.
Remi finished her championship, owner-handled, in 6 months of showing. She finished with back-to-back
majors at the Great Dane Club of California Specialty and took the Breed from the classes over all the
specials the next day to finish. Then, she made the cut in the group. She was just over a year old
Then she finished her International Championship in one weekend with 3 consecutive breed wins, a group
3 and a Best in Show. She was also ranked in the Top 20 for the first part of the year. By that time,
she had not even turned two. We missed out on a spot in the Top 20, but it was very close and a thrill
to compete with her.
Remi lived to be 11 1/2. She was diagnosed with DCM one month after her 11th birthday. You can read
